"No server" is easy to claim and hard to prove. This is the proof you can hold: an entire working app in a file small enough to email. There's no backend to shut down, no subscription to lapse, no account to get locked out of. Your invoices are saved in that file's own browser storage — they never leave your machine because there's nowhere for them to go.
It's the same tool as the online version; the online one just gets updates automatically. Download the file when you want a permanent, self-owned copy — the kind of thing that still opens in the year 2040.
Questions
Is the downloaded file really the full app?
Yes. It's the complete invoice generator — create invoices, quotes and estimates, live preview, multi-currency, tax and discount, saved clients, and PDF export via your browser's print. Nothing is stripped out.
Does it work with no internet?
Completely. Open the file in a browser with the wifi off and everything works, because none of it depends on a server. The only things that need the internet are the external links (e.g. upgrading to Pro), which you'd click when you're online.
Where are my invoices stored in the downloaded version?
In your browser's local storage, tied to that file, on your device. They're never uploaded. Export PDFs to keep permanent copies, and note that different browsers keep separate storage.
How is this different from just using the website?
Functionally it's the same app. The download is for people who want a permanent, offline, self-owned copy that can't be taken away or changed underneath them. The website is more convenient and always up to date.
